ACE is a growing FAA certified repair station (pending) in Columbus, OH. We specialize in composite and sheet metal aircraft structures including flight controls, radomes, thrust reversers, engine inlets, fairings, etc.

Quality Control Technician is responsible for timely inspections of aircraft parts in the repair station. The QC Technician performs preliminary inspection, in-process “buy-back” inspections, and final inspections including return to service. Provides instruction supervision and support for consumers in achieving goals set in the IP.

Communicates and prepares reports and evaluations of consumers work and training progress on a daily, quarterly, and yearly basis, as required (includes attendance and payroll).

 

Maintains a positive, effective relation with staff, parents and outside agencies.

 

Responsible for compliance with Board policies and procedures.

Provides transportation for consumers as needed (requires completion of VEST training).

 

Perform related duties as required.

Job Details

The Local 669 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) conducts a five year apprenticeship program in all or part of 46 states in the U.S. for Sprinkler Fitters who are piping mechanics specializing in Fire Protection. We are very interested in your help to recruit qualified applicants. We also have excellent insurance, pension and education plans.  The apprentice’s entry-level rate is based on a percentage of the Journeyman rate of $32.70 per hour and may increase every six months if qualified.  Previous experience in construction or related college or military experience may enhance the entry-level wage. 

The minimum qualifications for entry into the Program are:

1.       Must be the age of 18 or over.

2.       Must be a high school graduate or have G.E.D.

3.       Must be physically fit to perform the work of the trade.

4.      Must have military discharge under other than dishonorable conditions, if applicable.

Inspects properties and buildings to develop plans and specifications for Medicaid waiver environmental modifications, monitor progress of contracted modifications and ensure modifications meet ADA standards upon completion.  Converses with consumers, parents, vendors, service providers and general public on phone providing information, scheduling appointments, and monitoring services received or provided in conjunction with environmental modifications.

 

Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and repairs of equipment, (e.g. light fixtures, electrical, outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical circuits, electrical components of heating and cooling systems, fans, thermostats, etc.)

Performs semi-skilled and skilled repair of plumbing equipment (e.g. water, steam, gas lines, sewer pipes, traps, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, heating and air conditioning.

 

On continuous basis is vigilant to observe building conditions to assure safe, efficient and comfortable operation.  Make observations known to management by oral or written communications.

 

Operates power tools and other equipment to make repairs.

 

Performs painting, plaster repairs, masonry and concrete repairs and other similar repairs as needed.

 

Inservice building custodians.  On call in case of emergencies.

DUTIES:

Support the RSAF Secure Communication Equipment Officer-in-charge by:

·        Exchanging faulty Cryptographic equipment needing repair at the Squadron / Operational site with a serviceable spare unit.

·        Forwarding the failed unit to the Central Repair Facility of Secure Comm. equipment for further analysis and repair to the component level. Therefore, the technician must be familiar with standard troubleshooting tools and devices such as Huntron Tracker and General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) for isolating faults to sub-assembly and component level.

·        Replacing the failed components from the repair parts inventory.

·        Verifying repaired units and testing the system tested for proper operation before returning to the squadron/operational site.

 

NATIONALITY/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

The Cryptographic Engineer shall have Nationality acceptable to RSAF Security and will require special clearances for working on the Secure Communication Equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise work activities of a weatherization crew performing home insulation, caulking, weather-stripping, and installation of storm windows when necessary and/or minor building repairs on the houses of elderly and low-income persons.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        High school diploma or equivalent.

·        Prior supervisory experience preferred

·        A variety of construction experience i.e. (installing roof vents, doors, windows, insulation)

·        Experience or training in construction trades, home weatherization, or related field.

·        Able to follow instructions, work outside in all types of weather, not afraid of heights and capable of using various power tools and equipment common to construction trades.

·        Willing to learn and take further training as available.

·        Must provide own clothing suitable for working in all types of weather conditions.

·        Able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly, and/or minority residents.

·        Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable.

·        Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.

 

DUTIES:

·        Follow instructions from supervisor regarding overall requirements for each job including type and quantity of materials to be used, how and where they should be installed and any special instructions.

·        Determine tools, equipment and materials needed to complete the assigned job(s), sign out and ensure loading of vehicle.

·        Proper use, maintenance, and inventory of all vehicles, tools, or other equipment assigned to work crew.

·        Continuous daily supervision of assigned crew daily coordination of crew and completion of work scheduling to be done.

·        Drive personnel, equipment and materials to job sit(s) in agency vehicle.

·        Advise resident at job site of intent to begin work and generally relate the nature of work to be performed.  Ensure good communications with resident.

·        Ensure safe condition of all tools and equipment before use and enforce use of appropriate personal protection equipment by crew.

·        Immediately report any accidents or problems encounter on job site.

·        Communicate work instructions to crew members and job giving careful attention to proper installation or repair and quality workmanship.

·        Upon completion of job, ensure collection of all tools and equipment, proper cleanup of materials and debris and the completion of reports and records.

·        Provide on-the-job training to crew members including worksite safety procedures and attend training sessions relative to work as assigned.

·        Ensure accurate records are kept such as vehicle mileage, information needed for reporting forms, completion of building weatherization reports, etc.

·        Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
