Toastmasters Club [updated
3/5/09]
The Wilmington Expressives Toastmasters Club welcomes new
members! Toastmasters is an international organization formed in 1924 to
aid people in developing and fine-tuning their public speaking,
leadership, and communication skills through meetings, workshops, and
seminars.
Toastmasters provides a
mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every
member has the opportunity to develop skills, which in turn foster
self-confidence and personal growth. Members build leadership skills by
organizing and conducting meetings and motivating others to help them.
Members learn to relax, plan, and present a terrific speech. Participants
learn and practice in a friendly environment with people who are there for
the same reason: to become better communicators.
The club is open to the
general public. Dues are $5.50 per month payable twice per year. The Toastmasters meet on the
1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Faith
Lutheran Church in Wilmington. For more information, call Ron Keim at (937)
366-2053.
